LOUISVILLE, KY. - The UVA Wise women's cross country team placed 42nd at the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic on Saturday.
The Cavs were led by the 94th place finisher, freshman Lydia Slemp, with a time of 20:40.7 and a 6:39 pace.
Alexsis Porter was second across the line for UVA Wise, coming in 138th place, with a time of 21:16.6 and a pace of 6:50. Jayden Sisk followed with a time of 22:51.1 and a pace of 7:21, good for a 273rd place finish.
Isabella Sturgill (372nd place) finished in 26:02.2, Marlise Lucas (385th place) finished in 27:07.5, and Katherine Hopkins (391st place) finished in 28:39.1 to close out the day for the Cavs.
Bethelhem Manzano Jimeno secured the individual championship with a time of 18:06.4. Trine University took the team championship with 179 points, coming in 887 points ahead of UVA Wise.
The Cavs will be back in action on Oct. 6th for the Royals Challenge in Charlotte, N.C.
