HUNTSVILLE, AL – The Highland Cavalier women's cross country team competed in the Southern Showcase Friday morning. The team placed 43rd in a field composed mainly of NCAA Division I institutions, including several SEC and ACC programs.
Alexsis Porter led the team with her time of 18:41.4 in the 5K event.
Sylvie Fracis ran a 19:33.9, while
Lydia Slemp finished in 19:40.0
Ashley Jackson ran for a time of 20:50.9,
Jayda Hilton 21:27.7, and Shaylen Cannon finished in 21:55.8.
Destyne Rutherford had a time of 23:35.3,
Jayden Sisk finished in 23:58.4,
Nicole Poston posted a time of 24:05.0, and
Grace Adams completed the course in 24:34.5.
The team will next compete in the South Atlantic Conference Preview Meet on September 27. The event is hosted by Tusculum University and will be held on the site of the SAC Championship meet at Kinser Park just south of Greeneville, Tennessee.
