GREENVILLE, Tenn. - - UVa-Wise finished eighth at the Tusculum Invitational held at Link Hills Golf and Country Club Sunday. Walters State Community College took home the team title with a score of 886 while the Cavaliers shot a 954.
Bryce Varner was the highest finishing UVa-Wise golfer as he finished tied for 16th with a score of 233 in the three-day event. Jacob Smith finished tied for 23rd with a score of 234 while Cody Large (236) finished tied for 26th and Huntery Farley shot a 251 to finish 42nd.
Spartanburg Methodist finished second in the tournament with a team score of 895 thanks to individual champion Caleb Brown's score of 211. Brown's performance was two strokes better than Walter's State Alex Hodge who shot a 213.
UVa-Wise will wrap up the spring portion of its schedule on April 8 at the MEC Spring Classic.
