CHAPIN, SC -- UVA-Wise secured a sixth-place finish at the Koala Classic with a total score of 630, highlighted by
Jacob Leonard's rounds of 76 and 75 at the Timberlake Country Club.
Jacob Leonard led the Cavaliers team with a tie for 12th place, shooting a consistent 151 over two rounds. Leonard improved his score slightly in the second round, moving from a 76 to a 75.
Piyachote Naphapayarksiri secured 17th place with a final score of 154. Naphapayarksiri started strong with a 76 in the first round and wrapped up with a 78 in the second round.
Reilly Yoder, competing as an individual, finished in 20th place with a total of 156. Yoder showed improvement in the second round, lowering his score from 80 to 76.
Evan Loftis finished tied for 39th, carding a 161. Loftis improved his performance in the second round, shaving three strokes off his first-round score of 82 with a 79.
Teekatat Rurkmaneewan, playing as an individual, tied for 46th with a total of 163. He shot an 80 on the first day and followed with an 83 in the final round.
Cruz Bongiovanni tied for 50th, with a final score of 164. Bongiovanni made a notable improvement from the first round, going from an 86 to a 78 in the second round.
Ryley Forster tied for 66th place with a first round score of 88 and a second round of 82.
The Cavs will compete in their penultimate event of the year on April 7 when they play in the East Tennessee Collegiate, hosted by Milligan University at the Johnson City Country Club.
