KNOXVILLE, TN -- The UVA Wise men's golf team tied for fifth place with a final score of 468 at the Willow Creek GC Tournament, highlighted by
Jacob Leonard and
Ryley Forster each carding a final score of 114. The second round was shortened to nine holes due to unexpected snow showers.
Jacob Leonard tied for eighth place with a final score of 114. His performance included a 77 in the first round and an impressive 37 in the second round.
Piyachote Naphapayarksiri finished in 18th place, tallying a total score of 116. He shot a 76 in the first round and a 40 in the second round.
Cruz Bongiovanni tied for 23rd with a final score of 118. Bongiovanni carded an 81 in the first round and improved to a 37 in the second round.
Ryley Forster, competing independently, secured an eighth-place tie with a final score of 114. Forster shot a 75 in the first round and a 39 in the second round.
Evan Loftis tied for 33rd with a score of 120 after carding 79 in the first round and 41 in the second round.
Reilly Yoder tied for 38th as he shot for 124 (77/41).
The Cavs will compete in the Koala Classic in Chapin, South Carolina, next week.
