CHUCKEY, TN -- The UVA Wise men's golf team tied for tenth at the Bob Dibble Memorial, with
Jacob Leonard leading the team by tying for 21st with a 54-hole score of 221 (+5) at Graysburg Hills Golf Course.
The Highland Cavaliers recorded a total score of 905 over three rounds. The team opened with a 301 and improved in the second round with a notable 294, before slipping to a 310 in the final round. Leonard was a standout for the Cavs, finishing tied for 21st with a score of 221, highlighted by an impressive second round of 69, which was 3-under par.
Piyachote Naphapayarksiri also contributed significantly, ending tied for 31st with a total score of 224, showing steady play with rounds of 75, 74, and 75.
Cruz Bongiovanni tied for 56th, finishing at 230, with his best performance during the second round, where he shot an even-par 72.
Reilly Yoder recorded a 233 (+17), tying for 65th (77–79–77), while
Evan Loftis placed 88th with a 247 (74–83–90).
Teekatat Rukmaneewan and
Ryley Forster both competed as individuals, with Rukmaneewan scoring 246 (87-80-79) to tie for 86th and Forster hitting for 249 (85-83-81) to finish 89th.
In their next event, the Cavs will compete at the Atomic City Classic at the Oak Ridge (Tennessee) Country Club on October 20-21 to close out the Fall portion of their season.
