OAK RIDGE, TN -- UVA Wise secured a close second-place finish at the 2025 Atomic City Classic with a team score of 579 over two rounds at the Oak Ridge Country Club.
Piyachote Naphapayarksiri led the Cavaliers with an impressive five-under-par total, finishing second individually with rounds of 69 and 70.
The last time the team finished second or better was in this same event in the 2023-24 season.
Piyachote Naphapayarksiri secured a second-place finish with a final score of 139 (-5). He posted a first-round 69 (-3) and followed up with a 70 (-2) in the second round. This marks the third time in his career that he has scored less than 140 in a 36-hole tournament.
Jacob Leonard finished third, carding a total of 142 (-2) with consistent rounds of 71 (-1) in both the first and second rounds.
Reilly Yoder tied for 22nd place, recording a final score of 150 (+6). He improved in the second round with a 74 (+2) after an opening round of 76 (+4).
Cruz Bongiovanni ended the tournament tied for 29th, posting a final score of 152 (+8). He started strong with a 73 (+1) in the first round but slipped to a 79 (+7) in the second round.
Evan Loftis tied for 34th place, finishing with a total score of 153 (+9). He shot an even par 72 in the first round before an 81 (+9) in the second round.
Ryley Forster played as an independent and ended the tournament with a 163, tying for 60th place.
This was the final match of the Fall portion of the season. The team will return to action in February.
