WISE – UVA Wise picked up the South Atlantic Conference season sweep over Coker Tuesday afternoon, winning 8-0 in five innings in game one and 6-3 in game two.
The win moves the Cavs to a three-way tie for seventh in the SAC standings with eighteen days left in the regular season.

GAME ONE – UVA Wise 8, Coker 0 – 8 innings
- The Cavaliers' pitching staff delivered a standout performance, allowing just two hits while striking out seven batters over five innings.
- In the first inning, UVA Wise took an early lead with four runs.
Lindsey Polan doubled to right center, driving in
Kaylynn Baker, who had singled and stolen second.
Taylor Noe followed with a single, and
Taylor Clay walked to load the bases.
Savannah Johnson reached on a dropped fly by the left fielder, allowing Polan, Noe, and Clay to score, all unearned. The score was 4-0 after the first inning.
- The fourth inning saw additional scoring from the Highland Cavaliers. After Johnson drew a walk and
Emmaleigh Banks entered as a pinch runner,
Madison Anglin singled to advance Banks.
Adyson Gibson then singled to shortstop, allowing Banks to score on the throw. The score increased to 5-0 after the fourth inning.
- UVA Wise extended its lead in the fifth inning. Polan singled and was replaced by pinch runner
Sophie Easterly, who scored on a double by Clay. Johnson's single up the middle brought in Clay, and Anglin singled to bring home Johnson. This completed the scoring at 8-0 and ended the game.

Chloe Murphy delivered a standout performance, pitching a complete game shutout over five innings. She allowed just two hits and struck out seven batters without issuing a walk. Murphy faced 18 batters and threw 70 pitches, with 51 of those being strikes. Her efforts secured her eighth win of the season, as she held Coker scoreless throughout the contest.
- Gibson recorded two hits and one RBI while stealing two bases in the game. Polan contributed offensively with two hits, including a double, and added one RBI. Clay posted two runs, one hit, and one RBI, highlighted by a double.
GAME TWO – UVA Wise 6, Coker 3
- The Cavaliers tallied 12 hits, including a home run, to clinch the win in the second game of their doubleheader. The game began with
Adyson Gibson singling down the left-field line.
Kaylynn Baker hit a triple to right-center, followed by
Lindsey Polan's RBI single up the middle, scoring Baker. This put the Cavs ahead 1–0 at the end of the first inning.
- In the second inning, the Cobras tied the score. C. Schmidt's double to right-center brought in a run, making it 1–1.
- The fourth inning saw the Cobras take a 2–1 lead with an RBI single from Schmidt. The Cavaliers responded in the fifth inning when Polan hit a three-run homer to center field, putting the Highland Cavaliers up 4–3.
- The sixth inning further cemented the Cavs' lead with
Madison Anglin's triple to right field, followed by Gibson's RBI single.
Kennedy Miller then doubled down the left-field line, scoring Gibson. This extended UVA Wise's lead to 6–3.
- The game concluded with no additional runs in the seventh inning, sealing a 6–3 win for the Cavs.

Angelina Branch started on the mound for UVA Wise, pitching 3 1/3 innings and allowing three hits and two earned runs while striking out one batter and walking two. Branch threw 57 pitches, 34 of which were strikes, and faced 15 batters.
Bayleigh Allison took over in relief, pitching 3 2/3 innings and giving up three hits and one earned run. Allison recorded four strikeouts without issuing any walks, throwing 56 pitches with 41 strikes and facing 15 batters. Allison did not allow any inherited runners to score, solidifying her contribution in preserving the lead.

Adyson Gibson led the team with three hits and one RBI in the game. Polan contributed significantly with a home run and four RBIs. Baker scored two runs and added a triple to her performance.
