EMORY, VA - The UVA Wise men's and women's track and field teams continued their outdoor campaign at the Emory Blue and Gold Invitational, hosted by conference member Emory & Henry. The facility will serve as the site of the upcoming South Atlantic Conference Championships, providing a valuable preview environment. The Highland Cavaliers delivered a commanding performance, with the women's team winning the meet with 316 points and the men's team finishing second with 203 points.

WOMEN'S RESULTS
- The women's team controlled the meet across multiple event groups, combining sprint dominance, hurdle execution, and relay strength to secure the team title.
- Event victories were led by
Destiny Ansley-Cureton in the 100m (12.36),
Haley Faulkner in both the 200m (26.14) and 400m (59.88), and
Lydia Slemp in the 1500m (5:01.77). In the hurdles,
Jocie Aldrich swept both events, winning the 100m hurdles (15.86) and 400m hurdles (1:10.08), reinforcing her versatility.
- The relay units were equally effective, with the 4x100m team of
Madison Sutherland,
Destiny Ansley-Cureton,
Madison Outland, and
Olivia McClintock winning in 47.88, while the 4x400m relay squad of
Jocie Aldrich,
Madison Outland,
Kylie Brodt, and
Haley Faulkner captured first in 4:22.78.
- I n the field events,
Jordyn Taylor claimed the pole vault title (3.30m), and
Nia Rogers won the shot put (11.85m), contributing critical points to the team total.
- The women's squad also produced multiple school records.
Haley Faulkner set a new program standard in the 200m (26.14), while
Jocie Aldrich established a new mark in the 400m hurdles (1:10.08), continuing a strong trend of progression in that event group.

MEN'S RESULTS
- The men's team delivered a balanced performance across distance, hurdles, and field events to secure a runner-up finish.

Dylan Colander led the distance group with a victory in the 5000m (16:21.33), while
Lukus Ball won the 400m hurdles (1:03.88), showcasing strength in the intermediate hurdles. In the field, David Williams secured the pole vault title with a clearance of 4.40m, and Bennett - Estremera won the high jump (1.90m).
Hunter Blevins added another victory in the shot put (13.58m).
- Several of these performances resulted in new school records. Colander's 5000m time established a new program benchmark, while Ball's 400m hurdles mark (1:03.88) and Williams' pole vault clearance (4.40m) both reset existing standards, highlighting continued upward trajectory in key event areas.

The Highland Cavaliers will take a scheduled off week before returning to competition on April 17 at the Centre Twilight Meet in Danville, Kentucky, hosted by Centre College. The meet will serve as the final tune-up before championship season begins.
