Yoro Diallo has earned WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for the second time this season, the SAC announced Monday afternoon.
The honor comes after he helped lead the team to a 2-0 week with a win over Tusculum and the upset of fourth-ranked Anderson.
The Cincinnati native averaged 15.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 blocks a game last week. Against Tusculum he had 17 points and 10 rebounds, while against Anderson he had 14 points and ten rebounds.
He currently ranks second in the SAC in rebounds per game and total rebounds, seventh in points, ninth in assists, and tenth in blocks

Diallo is the first Highland Cavalier to earn SAC Player of the Week honors twice in a season and the third in the NCAA era, joining Mountain East Conference Players of the Week Taiwo Badmus (who earned it twice in both 2016-17 and 17-18) and Matt Day (2015-16). Other Cavs to be named conference Player of the Week twice in a season are Deon Boyce (Mid-South Conference, 2012-13), Zydrunas Rackauskas (Appalachian Athletic Conference, 2006-07), and Zack Moore (AAC, 2002-03).
The team is currently 14-4 overall and 7-3 in SAC play this season and will travel to Lincoln Memorial Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. SAC tilt against the Railsplitters.
