ANDERSON, SC – The UVA Wise softball team fell in a close game one at Anderson before the Trojans rallied to take the second game and the South Atlantic Conference series Saturday afternoon.

GAME ONE

Adyson Gibson scored for the Cavs in the first inning via a double to right center by
Mallory McKnight.
- The Trojans would score twice in the second and third innings and add three more runs in the fifth.
- Another double by McKnight scored
Jessica Clark in the sixth inning, followed by
Lindsey Polan later scoring in the same inning from a single to right field by
Abagail Mills. AU then held off the Cavs in the seventh inning to take the 7-3 win.
- UVA Wise had six hits in the game, while Anderson had seven.
- McKnight was 3-3 with two RBI for the game, while Mills,
Taylor Clay, and
Kaylynn Baker each tallied a hit.
GAME TWO
- UVA Wise scored three runs to open the game. McKnight scored
Emma McCauley and Gibson with a two run double to left center. She was later brought home on a double by
Bayleigh Allison.
- AU then heated up and scored six runs in the first and four more in the second innings.
- Clay scored in the fourth on a wild pitch and Gibson would follow later in the inning, also on a wild pitch. Anderson then scored five more runs in the bottom of the inning and win the game.
- UVA Wise had seven hits to AU's thirteen, with McKnight going 2-3 with a run and two RBI and Polan also going 2-3.
GETTING WISE
- McKnight had a good day as she hit .833 (5-6) with a run, three doubles and four RBI.
- Polan hit .400 for the series as she went 2-5 with a run.

UVA Wise returns home for a pair of SAC series as they host Newberry Wednesday afternoon and Carson-Newman on Saturday. First pitch for both series is set for 1 p.m.
