WISE – The UVA Wise softball team defeated Virginia Union in both games of a doubleheader Sunday afternoon at the Bill Gatton Softball Field. It was also a historic day as head coach
Karen Bitter earned her 300
th career victory with the win in the first game.
Bitter adds today to the other milestone wins of her career, which are:

GAME ONE

Emma McCauley scored both of UVA Wise's runs in the first and third innings, both times via sacrifice flies.
- The Cavs then exploded for six runs in the fifth inning to win by a walk-off run rule.
- McCauley and
Kaylynn Baker each had two hits, while every other Highland Cavalier who batted got a hit.

Taylor Clay had two RBI to lead the team, while five other players had one apiece.

Alivia Nolley threw a complete game for her fourth win of the season. She only allowed one hit and had two strikeouts.
GAME TWO
- UVA Wise scored four runs in the first, one in the second, and six runs in the fourth to win in five innings.
- McCauley had three hits and scored three runs to lead the team.

Madison Milne had two hits each, and
Adyson Gibson, Baker, and
Lindsey Polan had a hit each.

- One highlight of the game was a solo inside the park home run to left center by
Adyson Gibson in the fourth inning.
- Savanna Paul picked up her second win of the season as she allowed only one hit and struck out eight batters.
