WISE – A pair of third quarter touchdowns proved to be the difference as Anderson played the spoiler for UVA Wise's Homecoming festivities as they defeated the Highland Cavaliers 20-13 Saturday afternoon.
Before the game, the four inductees to the UVA Wise Athletic Hall of Fame, including former coach Bruce Wasem and former wide receiver Matt Barbour, were honored and acted as honorary captains for the contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the Cavs were intercepted on their opening drive, Anderson only managed 15 yards on seven plays and missed a 39 yard field goal.
- UVA Wise then put together an 11 play drive that went 75 yards as

- The Trojans then tied the match at 7-7 early in the second quarter when Dylan Manders hauled in a 35 yard touchdown catch from Tyler Wesley.
- On the ensuing drive the Cavs marched 62 yards down the field before the drive stalled at the 12 yard line.
Jordan Crabtree's 29 yard field goal was good and UVA Wise re-took the lead, 10-7.
- AU got the ball to start the second half and scored nine plays later as JB Seay punched the ball in from the one yard line and gave the Trojans the 14-10 lead.
- Anderson scored again on their next possession on a quarterback keeper by Wesley, but the extra point was no good and Anderson extended the lead to 20-10.
- UVA Wise then took the ball to the 2 yard line on their next possession, but the Trojan defense held and the Crabtree's 19 yard field goal cut the lead to seven.
- The Cavs had some defensive stops and had a couple of long drives, highlighted by a 77 yard rush by
Dejauvis Dozier and a touchdown pass to the corner of the end zone that was called back on a holding penalty, but they were unable to overcome the deficit and the Trojans escaped with the 20-13 win.
ABOUT THE CAVS
- Despite the loss, it was a career day for DeJauvis Dozier, who ran for 145 yards on 15 carries, including a 77 yard run down the sideline.
Ian Scammell also had a solid outing as he had 83 yards on 16 carries.

Kahlil Jones, Jr led the team in receptions as he had six catches for 48 yards.
Dorien Goddard had five catches for 31 yards and the Cavs' touchdown.
- Quarterback
Jake Corkren went 17-30 for 180 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.
- Jordan Crabrtee had two field goals from 29 and 19 yards, respectively.

Brub Hines III had 12 tackles and a pass breakup to lead the team. Matthew Strong added in six tackles, while
Kenneth Long had two sacks.
- UVA Wise had 432 yards of offensive and held the Trojans to only 288. They out-rushed Anderson 252 yards-183 yards and had 180 yards passing to 105 by Anderson.
ABOUT ANDERSON
- Anderson is in their first season of football, and this was a historic first conference win for the Trojans.
- Tyler Wesley went 8-15 for 105 yards and a touchdown through the air and also rushed 13 times for 41 yards and a touchdown.
- Seay led AU with seven carries for 59 yards and a touchdown, while Monzelle Campbell had eight carries for 58 yards.
- Campbell had three catches for 29 yards to lead the Trojans, while Jalon Warthen-Carr had two catches for 29 yards.
- Damion Perry led the Trojans defensively with 13 tackles and a sack. Josiah Jeffery added in 11 tackles.
