SPARTANSBURG, S.C. - Cavaliers from the UVA Wise women's cross country team ran at the XC Division-II Southeast Regional this Saturday, Nov. 6 in Spartansburg, N.C., competing against the top runners in all of Division-II from this region of the United States.

Three women's cross country runners -
Haley Sykes,
Kaley Sykes, and
Anna Kriebel - represented UVA Wise at the regional in the Women's 6000 meter race. Although the Cavaliers ran unattached, they still came out of the race with new personal records.
Haley Sykes finished in 95th, and ran a 25:10.4. Teammate and sister
Kaley Sykes also ended with a new personal record, finishing with a time of 25:57.6.
Anna Kriebel finished out the effort with a personal record of 26:26.8, putting her in 128th.

From a team perspective, Queens University of Charlotte won the regional with their best runner finishing with a time of 20:37.7 and their team total scoring a 25. The Wingate University Bulldogs finished in second, with their best runner finishing in first place with a time of 1:46.01 and their team score of 43.Â
