ROCK HILL, SC –
Kenzy Abdelaal has been named to the South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis All-SAC Singles Third Team, conference officials announced today.
A redshirt player from Cairo, Abelaal becomes the first women's tennis player to earn All-SAC honors in singles since Liza Akimenko was named to the Singles Honorable Mention Team in 2021.
Abdelaal posted an 11-7 record at #1 singles for the 2025-26 season, including wins over the top players on the LMU, Emory & Henry, and Mars Hill squads. She was close to winning over Newberry's top player when the match was decided and her flight was halted due to match clinch rules.
On the season she also had a 13-7 doubles record, partnering with
Melissa Lino Airoldi at the #1 doubles flight.
The team has earned a berth in the South Atlantic Conference Championships, which begin tomorrow at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, South Carolina. They are the seventh seed and will face two-seed Lenoir-Rhyne at 2 p.m. tomorrow.
