ROCK HILL, SC – UVA Wise Lacrosse Goalkeeper
Addie Donalson has been named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for her performance last week. The conference made the announcement earlier today.
Donalson, a senior from Pittsburgh, had ten saves while allowing only seven goals in the Highland Cavaliers' win at Newberry Saturday afternoon. She currently ranks second in the SAC and fifth in Division II in goals-against average with 7.56 and is also fifth in the SAC in goals allowed this season with 68.
This is the second time she has been named SAC Defensive Player of the Week.
With the win the team improves to 11-1 overall and 5-0 in SAC play, both are firsts in the program's history.
The Cavs are currently listed as "Also Considered" in the latest USA Lacrosse Division II Poll, marking the first time they have been mentioned in that poll and their first national consideration since they received votes in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association poll in February of 2023.
After playing the last month on the road, the team returns home on Wednesday to host LMU on the Beaty-Richmond Field. First draw is set for 3 p.m.
