WISE – The Highland Cavalier softball team improved to 13-3 and 11-1 at home as they captured wins over Lees-McRae and Concord Friday afternoon on the Bill Gatton Field.

GAME ONE – UVA Wise 10, Lees-McRae 3
- UVA Wise secured a decisive victory over Lees-McRae with a commanding 10-3 final score. The first inning set the tone for the game, with
Adyson Gibson singling to shortstop, followed by
Taylor Clay walking, advancing Gibson.
Kaylynn Baker's single brought in the first run, and a passed ball allowed two more runs to score.
Taylor Noe's double added two RBIs to the tally.
Savannah Johnson tripled, bringing home Noe, followed by
Ashley Morgan grounding out but driving in Johnson, capping a six-run inning. The score was 6-1 in favor of the Cavaliers after the first inning.
- In the third inning, Johnson walked and was later brought home by a triple from Gibson, extending the lead. At the end of the third, the score was 7-2, Highland Cavaliers.
- The fourth inning saw the Bobcats add another run to their total, but the score remained in favor of the Cavs at 7-3.
- In the sixth inning, the Cavs added three more runs. Baker singled and was pinch-run for by
Kylee Holt, who scored on a Noe single. Madison Sutton, a pinch runner, also scored on a throwing error. Noe scored on a ground out by
Madison Anglin, closing the inning at 10-3 for the Cavaliers.
- Lees-McRae was unable to add any further runs in the seventh inning, leading to a final score of 10-3 in favor of the Cavs.

Olivia Shockley delivered a complete game performance, pitching 7 innings and allowing 3 earned runs on 4 hits against the Bobcats. Taylor Clay's double to left center, bringing Gibson home.
Savannah Johnson hit a her first triple of the season to right field, clearing the bases and adding three more runs.
Kennedy Miller's single to right field brought Johnson home, ending the inning with a 5-2 lead.
- In the second inning, the Cavaliers extended their lead with three additional runs. Clay walked and scored on
Lindsey Polan's double to right field. Another walk and a fielder's choice set the stage for Miller, who walked to bring in Polan.
Mataya Ausmus singled to drive in another run, concluding the inning with an 8-2 advantage.
- The fifth inning saw the Cavs adding a run to their lead. Ausmus singled and later scored on Clay's double to left field, making the score 9-3.
- In the sixth inning, the Highland Cavaliers further cemented their lead.
Madison Anglin singled, advanced on a double by Johnson, and scored on Miller's single. A passed ball allowed a pinch runner to score, concluding the scoring at 11-3.

Chloe Murphy delivered a complete game performance for the Cavs, pitching 6 innings and recording 5 strikeouts. Murphy allowed 5 hits and 3 earned runs while issuing 2 walks. The pitcher showed efficiency with 67 of 98 pitches going for strikes, achieving a WHIP of 1.17. Murphy's record improved to 5-1 with this outing.
