Chloe Huston has been named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week. Conference officials made the announcement Monday afternoon.
The Chippewa, Pennsylvania native had a big week last week as she had nine ground balls, won 13 draws, caused seven turnovers, and also scored two goals and had two assists. She won seven draws and had four ground balls vs. Emory & Henry on Wednesday, and followed that up on Friday against Converse with six draws won and five ground balls.
The team pounded Emory & Henry 18-3 in the SAC opener and defeated Converse 16-3 Friday afternoon.
This is the first time she has earned the honor and she is the first Defensive Player of the Week since
Addie Donalson earned it last April. This is the third time the Highland Cavaliers have had a SAC Defensive Player of the Week since the school joined the conference in 2019.
The team will play at Lee Friday afternoon at 5 p.m.
