NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association recently announced their academic awards, with the UVA Wise men's and women's track & field teams both earning spots on their All-Academic Teams. In addition, Caleb Yeary earned a place on the organization's All-Academic Athletes list.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team a team must have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale. The UVA Wise women's team had a 3.29 GPA while the men had a 3.19.

Yeary earned a spot on the All-Academic Athlete list for the second straight season. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a minimum GPA of 3.25 and finished the season listed in the top 50 nationally in an event. The senior from Ewing, Virginia, placed in the top 50 nationally in the 100 meter dash.
