WISE – The UVA Wise lacrosse team hit the 20 goal mark for the second straight game as they roared past Mars Hill 20-3 on the Beaty-Richmond Field. It was also a big day for a couple of Cavaliers as
Abby Stoffelen passed the 100 goals mark and
Grace Golatt controlled the 150
th draw of their careers.
Stoffelen becomes only the sixth player at UVA Wise to surpass 100 goals, while Golatt is the fourth to win 150 draws.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UVA Wise scored first when
Logen Davis passed it to Stoffelen for the goal with 13:04 left in the first quarter. Stoffelen then assisted
Noley Hiller with a goal less than a minute later and
Leslie Clay and Davis both found the back of the net before the 10 minute mark.
- Mars Hill would score their first goal with 9:47 remaining and the second with 4:36 left, but the Cavs would score twice more in between to hold the 6-2 lead after the first frame.
- The Cavs would then roll off ten straight goals over the second and third quarters to lead 17-2 heading into the fourth quarter. A highlight during that stretch was Stoffelen's second goal of the game with 13:39 in the second, which put her at the century mark.
- Mars Hill scored their third goal to start the fourth quarter, but goals by
Ella Creagh,
Chloe Huston and
Alexis Hilstrom closed out the game for the Cavs as they went on to win 20-3.
- The Lion goals were scored by Nevaeh Louden, Kendall Middleton, and Haley Stallings. Brooklyn Nemitz had the lone Lion assist.
- Stoffelen led the team with her haul of goals and two assists for six points.
Kaylea Paterson added in three goals and two assists while
Caitlyn Schultz had three goals and an assist.

Logen Davis had a career-high five assists to lead the Cavs; while
Issie Brown won six draws and Golatt grabbed five, including the 150
th of her career.

Addie Donalson earned the win to improve to 5-8 on the season as she and Katie Michals each had a half in cage.
- The Cavs outshot MHU 31-5, had 14 ground balls to seven by the Lions, out-drew Mars Hill 18-9, and were a perfect 9-9 in clears.
GETTING WISE
- Stoffelen becomes the sixth player in program history to surpass 100 career goals and passed the 100 scored by Caroline Earnshaw from 2019-22. She now is fifth all-time in goals with 102. Her six points are also place her at 144 for her career, passing Rachel Cole's (2015-18) 142.
- On her way to her 150
th draw won, Golatt passed Hannah Marshall (147, 2015-18) on the all-time draws list during the match and is now in fourth place.
Issie Brown is one behind Marshall in sixth place with 146.
- The 15 assists are the second-most in a single game in program history, while the 36 points are the fourth most in a game.
- Davis is now ranked fifth in the SAC in assists.
- The team moves to 7-0 in the all-time series against Mars Hill, dating back to 2018.

The team will travel to LMU next Saturday for a 1 p.m. South Atlantic Conference meeting with the Railsplitters.
