HARROGATE, TN – UVA Wise pulled ahead in the second quarter and extended their lead in the third to coast to the 11-7 win over Lincoln Memorial Saturday afternoon at the LMU Lacrosse Complex.
The win moves the Highland Cavs into a tie for sixth in the South Atlantic Conference standings with LMU with two games remaining on the schedule. Catawba and Tusculum are the two teams tied for eighth and both are tied a game behind the Cavs. UVA Wise controls their destiny as those are the next two opponents on their schedule. LMU, who celebrated their Senior Day today, will be on the road at Newberry and Emory & Henry to close out the regular season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Railsplitters scored first a little over a minute and a half into the game.
Logen Davis tied the game 1:34 later with her 25
th goal of the season. Both teams had several possessions over the remainder of the quarter, with LMU scoring with 3:22 left and
Caitlyn Schultz taking the pass from Davis and netting her first goal of the game with 2:09 remaining.
- LMU re-took the lead early in the second quarter, only to see the Cavs roll off three straight goals as
Noley Hiller scored twice with a goal by
Kaylea Paterson sandwiched in between. The score stood at 5-3 UVA Wise at the half.

Grace Golatt and Schultz each scored to give the Cavs the 7-3 lead and then the teams traded goals for the rest of the period as Golatt and
Leslie Clay each netted a goal apiece.
- Paterson scored an unassisted goal with 11:31 left in the game, with the Railsplitters getting one of their own five minutes later. Schultz put UVA Wise ahead 11-6 with the hat trick goal with 2:10 on the clock, and LMU scored late on a free position shot but was unable to get closer than 11-7.
- Briana Martinez led LMU with three goals, while Samantha Billingsley had three ground balls and won five draws.
GETTING WISE

Caitlyn Schultz ended the day with 100 career points, becoming the 14th player to reach the century mark in points. She trails her former teammate
Mallory Trimble (2021-24) by 11.
- Schultz also led the team in scoring with her three goals. She has now scored three or more goals eleven times in her career. Hiller, Paterson, and Golatt added in two goals apiece.
- Davis led all players with four assists and five points.

Taryn Moreno each had two ground balls for the Cavs.

Chloe Huston won a career-high four draws, while Golatt won two.
- The team improves to 9-1 overall vs LMU and 4-0 in Harrogate.
