WISE – Alabama-Huntsville used a third quarter run to pull away from the UVA Wise lacrosse team and claim the 15-7 win over the Highland Cavaliers Wednesday afternoon.
This was the first meeting between UVA Wise and the Chargers, who are receiving votes in the latest IWLCA Coaches Poll.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Chargers took a 2-0 lead before
Issie Brown found
Noley Hiller to cut the lead to one. UAH scored twice more before Brown scored off the pass from
Kaylea Paterson.
- The Cavs would score twice in the second period, with a pair of goals from
Caitlyn Schultz. UAH scored a goal in the stanza as well, and led 5-4 at the half.
- UAH outscored the Cavs 5-2 in the third quarter, with the goals coming from Schultz and Hiller.
- The Chargers then scored five straight goals in the fourth period to pull away from UVA Wise, but Schultz would score her fourth goal in the final two minutes to make the score 15-7/
GETTING WISE
- Caitlin Schultz had four goals to lead the team.
Noley Hiller had a brace and
Issie Brown had a goal.
- Kaylea Patterson led the team in assists with three, while Brown and Davis had one each.
- Brown also won a team-high four draws, while
Taryn Moreno won three, while Paterson and
Lauren Cole each won two draws.
- Moreno also had five ground balls and caused three turnovers.
