WISE – UVA Wise battled #25 Limestone to an 8-8 draw through 42 minutes, but seven unanswered goals by the league-leading Saints allowed them to escape Carl Smith Stadium with the 14-8 South Atlantic Conference win Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Logen Davis scored first as she netted her 17
th goal of the season from the pass by
Abby Stoffelen. The Saints answered back with three goals to close out the quarter.
- The Cavs outscored Limestone 5-2 in the second quarter, with
Grace Golatt scoring twice and
Noley Hiller netting a goal and assisting
Kaylea Paterson on one of her two goals in the period. After Paterson's first goal tied the game at 5-5 with 2:42 left, but the Saints would score with 11 seconds left in the half and looked take the 6-5 lead into halftime. But the Cavs would take the draw, drive down the field and score from the pass from Davis to Paterson with less than a second left to tie the game at 6-6.
- Stofellen found Hiller again to open the second half, and once again LU scored a few minutes later to tie the score again. A minute later
Leslie Clay scored to put the Cavs ahead 8-7. The Saints then went on a run, scoring three goals to close out the third quarter and adding four more in the fourth to take the 14-8 win.
- Keira Martin led the Saints with three goals, while three others had two goals apiece.
GETTING WISE
- Golatt, Hiller, and Paterson each had two goals apiece. Davis and Clay added in a goal apiece.
- Stoffelen had three assists to lead all players, Hiller had two, and Davis and Paterson had one each.

Taylor Thompson led the team with three ground balls each.

UP NEXT
The team has a week off before travelling to Wingate for a SAC game next Saturday. They will then play at local rival Emory & Henry for the first time in Emory on April 2.
