WISE – UVA Wise went out to a 6-2 run, but Lenoir-Rhyne made a run and outlasted the Highland Cavaliers 14-12 Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cavs took a 2-0 lead from goals by
Noley Hiller and
Grace Golatt. The Bears then tied the game up with a pair of goals 13 seconds apart.
Leslie Clay,
Chloe Huston, and Hiller closed out the first quarter with three goals.

Issie Brown scored less than two minutes into the second period, putting the Cavs ahead 6-2. UVA Wise then went ice cold from the field for the next 18:35 and the Bears capitalized with a 9-0 run.

Kaylea Paterson and
Logen Davis broke the drought with goals midway through the third quarter. L-R then scored a minute later, but
Leslie Clay scored soon afterward to make the score 12-9. The Bears scored again late in the period to make it 13-9 going into the fourth quarter.
- The Cavs would outscore Lenoir-Rhyne 3-1 in the fourth quarter with goals by Davis, Golatt, and Hiller, but were unable to fully complete the comeback.
- Hiller led the team with a hat trick, her second of the season. Clay, Davis, and Gollatt each had two goals apiece.

Taryn Moreno and
Paige Rodgers each had six ground balls, and Rodgers caused a game-high six turnovers.
- Golatt led all players as she won five draws, while Huston won four.
