CHARLESTON, WV -- The UVA Wise women's tennis team had two hard-fought matches over the weekend against Fairmont State and West Virginia State.
In both matches the Cavs came up short by 4-3 margins.
Against FSU,
Constanca Azinhaga won a three-set tiebreaker at no. 2, while
Lucy Cunliffe and
Amelia Monteith won easily at the fourth and fifth flights.
In the match vs. WVSU, Monteith and
Kinsey Knox won at the fourth and fifth flights.
The team opens South Atlantic Conference play at Catawba on February 27.
