Grace Golatt has been named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office has announced.
The Upper Marlboro, Maryland, native had a big week as she led the team to a 2-0 start on the season. She had seven goals and four assists for eleven points last week. Golatt also had three ground balls, caused three turnovers, and won four draws. Against Lee she had a hat trick, while in the Coker game her haul marked the eleventh time in her career she has had three or more goals in a game.
In the season opener against Lee she surpassed the 100 point mark for her career.Â
She is the first Highland Cavalier to earn SAC Player of the Week honors (offensive or defensive) this season. Only five other Cavs have earned the honor since the school joined the conference in the summer of 2019. Abby Stoffelen last season. Jordan Edwards (2020) and Kameryn Darrington (2023) were the player to earn Defensive Pleyer of the Week honors.
The team will return to action this Saturday when they host Southern Wesleyan on the Beaty-Richmond Field at Carl Smith Stadium. First draw is set for 2 p.m.
