Lexie Jackson Named as Lacrosse Assistant Coach

WISE – UVA Wise lacrosse Head Coach Meghan Dennehy has announced that Lexie Jackson has been named as the program's new assistant coach.

"I am pleased to announce the addition of Lexie Jackson to our UVA Wise lacrosse coaching staff," said Dennehy. "As she steps into her first collegiate coaching position, Coach Lexie has already demonstrated an eagerness to learn and a genuine commitment to our program. Her energy, dedication, and passion for the sport will serve as a valuable asset to both our student-athletes and the continued growth of UVA Wise women's lacrosse."

Jackson has spent the last few seasons aiding the Barnegat (New Jersey) High School program as well as assisting with the 3-Point Lacrosse Club during the summer.

The Barnegat native played for a year at Kutztown University before transferring to Stockton University, where she played two seasons for the Ospreys. She played in 51 games during her career at KU and SU, scoring 41 goals and assisting on three more for a total of 44 points. She also picked up 46 ground balls, caused 28 turnovers, and won 141 draws during her collegiate career. She graduated from Stockton with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science.

When asked about coming to UVA Wise, Jackson said "What excites me most about this position is the opportunity to be part of a growing and competitive athletic program that values both athletic excellence and emotional intelligence. I'm particularly drawn to the culture that Coach Dennehy and the team have created. The team's emphasis on hard work, determination, and mental toughness will set them apart.

"I'm thrilled for the chance to contribute to a program where I have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact both on and off the field. The challenge of helping the team reach new competitive goals while fostering leadership, discipline, and teamwork is exciting. I'm eager to bring energy, dedication, and a collaborative spirit to the coaching staff and help continue building a program that student-athletes are proud to be part of."

Jackson and the team are currently in the midst of fall conditioning and play days in preparation for the upcoming season, which begins on February 7 when the Highland Cavaliers host former Mountain East Conference rival Charleston (WV) on the Beaty-Richmond Field at Carl Smith Stadium.
