CHARLOTTE, NC – Senior 
Jonah Adams made history for UVA Wise on Friday morning in his final regular season meet, capturing his first collegiate cross country victory at the Royals Challenge and breaking his own school record in the process.
Competing in the Blue Race, Adams crossed the line in 25:29.9 to win the event and lead the Cavaliers to a third-place team finish out of 18 teams in a strong regional field.
Freshman 
Dylan Colander continued his impressive debut season, finishing 6th overall in 26:03.2, while classmate 
Patton Shortt clocked a personal best of 26:58.2 to take 29th place. Junior 
Chad Douglas (27:16.56, 36th) and sophomore 
Dorian Almer (27:22.39, 39th) each added career-best performances to round out the Cavs' top five.
Freshman 
Caleb Ghammashi also turned in a PR, finishing 91st in 28:36.94 as all six UVA Wise runners landed inside the top 100.
Behind Adams' record-breaking run, the Cavaliers continued their strong midseason momentum, posting their third consecutive top-three team finish and cementing themselves among the Southeast's rising programs.
The team will now turn their attention to the SAC Championships which will take place on October 25th in Greeneville, TN.
