WINGATE, NC -- The UVA Wise men's cross country team delivered a milestone performance to close the 2025 campaign, placing 15th out of 25 teams at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Championships, marking the highest regional finish of the program's Division II era.
Freshman
Dylan Colander led the Cavaliers with a breakout performance, placing 35th overall in 33:18.27 for a new personal best in the 10K distance. Senior
Jonah Adams, competing in his final collegiate cross country race, followed just behind in 38th with a time of 33:24.82.
With their finishes, both Colander and Adams surpassed the program's previous highest individual regional finish (51st), setting a new competitive benchmark for UVA Wise men's cross country.
Sophomore
Dorian Almer placed 105th in 36:03.46, while junior
Chad Douglas finished 118th in 36:31.71. Freshmen
Patton Shortt (37:33.57, 140th) and
Caleb Ghammashi (37:35.32, 141st) both set personal bests to close the scoring for the Cavaliers.
