ROCK HILL, SC – The nascent UVA Wise track and field programs were both picked to finish thirteenth in the South Atlantic Conference Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Polls, which were released earlier today.

In addition, several athletes were named to the Athletes to Watch lists.

Both teams are in their second season of competition.

The men's team received 20 points in their poll and the women received 22 points.

Athletes to Watch on the men's side are Caleb Yeary, Francis Roberts, and Hunter Blevins.

Last season Yeary was the program's indoor leader in sprints and long jump, including a 7.00 second mark in the 60 meters and 23.36 mark in the 200 meters. He also had a 6.43 meter (21' 1.25") mark in the long jump.

The women's athletes to watch are Madison Outland and Nia Rogers.

Last season Outland led the team in sprints as she had high marks of 8.02 in the 60 meters and 27.14 in the 200 meters. She also posted a personal best of 1:11.42 in the 400 meters. In field events she had high marks in the triple jump (10.25m – 33' 7.5") and long jump (4.89m – 16' 0.5").

They open full indoor competition this weekend in the Centre College First Chance Meet Saturday in Danville, Kentucky.
