LOUISVILLE, KY. - The UVA Wise men's cross country team raced to a 38th place finish in the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic on Saturday.
The event saw sophomore Jonah Adams lead the way once again for the Cavs. He completed the 8K event with a time of 27:00.8, good for 54th place out of the event's 389 finishers. Adams completed his run with a 5:25 pace.
Freshman Eric Hegg was the team's next finisher with a 93rd place time of 27:31.6, good for a pace of 5:32. Chad Douglas, another Cavalier freshman, was the last team member to clock in under the 30 minute mark with a time of 29:47.3 and a pace of 5:59, slotting him into 254th on the day.
Avery Wells (313th place) finished in 31:23.3, John Thompson (341st place) finished in 32:27.8, and Gavin Bolling (364th place) finished in 34:01.8 to conclude the event for UVA Wise runners.
The individual champion of the event was Joseph Skoog with a time of 24:49.8. Trine University captured the team title with 97 points, 836 points clear of UVA Wise.
The Cavs will be back in action on Oct. 6th in Charlotte, N.C. where they will compete in the Royals Challenge.
