WISE - - The IWLCA announced the rosters for the 2023 Senior All-Star games Thursday. For the first time in school history, UVA Wise will be represented as defender Kameryn Darrington will compete against fellow NCAA Division II All-Stars Saturday, June 3 at USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md.
A five-year letter winner for the Cavaliers, Darrington wrapped up her senior season by being named Second-Team All-South Atlantic Conference.
The Dumfries, Va. product finished her career fourth in program history with 162 groundballs while also ranking fourth in caused turnovers with 89.
This season, she ranked second on the team with 45 groundballs while leading all Cavs with 32 caused turnovers. The fifth-year senior played in and started all 18 games this spring as she aided UVA Wise to the semifinals of the SAC Conference Tournament.
Darrington's most impressive performance of her final collegiate campaign came against Catawba when she scooped four groundballs, caused four turnovers and scored her first career goal to aid her team to a 14-7 triumph. For her work, the defender was tabbed SAC Defensive Player of the Week.
One of two SAC players selected for the game, Darrington will represent the North Team and play against league rival Becca Ruiz of Wingate who will be representing the South Team.
