WISE — UVA Wise couldn't hold off the Eagles on Monday afternoon, falling by a match score of 6-1.

Despite Carson-Newman's low roster count, No. 1 doubles partners Natasha Forrest and Julia Speiser made up for the deficit — earning the first doubles win over Antonella Campodonico and Constanca Azinhaga of the Cavaliers (7-12, 1-8 SAC).

Amelia Monteith and Lucy Cunliffe fought back in the No. 2 spot, but it would be the Eagles (3-12, 3-7 SAC) to take the 6-4 win.

In the final doubles spot, Sarah Moore and Sara Nichols snagged a win due to a no player, but the Eagles had already taken the overall point.

In singles, Moore won by default, but that would be the only Cavalier win. Cunliffe had her opponent, Summer Reeves, on the ropes in the tiebreaker, but eventually fell 6-0 in the second set.
