UVA WISE NOTES

UVA Wise opens up South Atlantic Conference play with a doubleheader at Anderson Friday before heading to Emmanuel on Saturday for a non-conference doubleheader.

• Kara Long is off to a fast start, the senior shortstop leads the SAC in on base percentage at .625 while ranking third in batting average at .538 and ninth in slugging at .808.
• Last time out, McKenna Falwell was lethal at the plate, lining a pair of hits while knocking in a season-high four as UVA Wise took down Concord 12-4 in five innings.
• Sarah Barrett enters the weekend on a six-game hitting streak. During the stretch, Barrett is 10-for-17 with three doubles and six runs scored.
• In the circle, Falwell has gone the distance in 2-of-4 starts this season. The right-hander has fanned 24 hitters in 26 innings of work.

ANDERSON NOTES

• Anderson leads the league and ranks sixth in NCAA Division II in batting average at .379. The Trojans 24 homers are the most of any NCAA Division II club to this point in the season.
• Ranked No. 15 in the latest NFCA Poll, Anderson has one of the nation's premier players in senior Kayson Boatner. Boatner is the reigning NFCA National Player of the Year and is hitting .521 with eight homers and 30 RBI to aid her team to a 12-4 start.
• The doubleheader with UVA Wise will mark the 13th and 14th home games played by the Trojans already. To this point, Anderson is 11-1 at home.
