WISE - - UVA Wise fifth-year Caitlyn Ross has been named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Player Of The Week. The award is the second of the Kingston, Tenn. native's career and comes after the guard led the Cavaliers to a 2-0 week that included the third triple-double of her career.

Ross began the week with a 20-point, three-rebound, eight-assist outing in her team's 84-81 win over Concord. The guard followed up the performance with one of the better games of her career as she tossed in 15 points with 11 rebounds and 12 assists en route to the first triple-double of the season by a SAC student-athlete.

The award is another in a long list of accomplishments for Ross who moved to 11th in school history with 1,382 points with Saturday's performance. Additionally, Ross' 693 assists are the most in school history and ranks third in league history. The guard stands 126 assists shy of the all-time SAC record of 819 assists currently held by Wingate's Cynthia Thomas who played for the Bulldogs from 1991-95.

UVA Wise will be back in action Wednesday at Emory & Henry. Tip-off from the King Center is slated for 7:30 p.m.
