Caroline Mullins Named WBCA All-America Honorable Mention

First NCAA All-America in Program History and First Overall Since Sarah Helton in 2006

ATLANTA – UVA Wise sophomore Caroline Mullins has earned another honor for the 2025-26 season – and it's the highest one she can receive. She is now an All-American. The Women's Basketball Coaches Association made the announcement earlier today in advance of the National Semifinals. Mullins joins three other South Atlantic Conference players in earning the honor this season and is the first women's basketball player at UVA Wise to earn the honor in the program's NCAA era and the sixth student-athlete overall.

The sophomore from Jasper, Georgia, led the team and the South Atlantic Conference in scoring this season, averaging 19.7 points a game to go along with 8.7 rebounds, 2.32 assists, 1.50 steals and 0.79 blocks per game. Her 551 points scored this season were the most since Sarah Helton in 2007 and she is the third player in UVA Wise women's basketball history to score more than 550 points in a season.

She earned SAC Player of the Week honors twice and was the school's first NCAA Division II National Player of the Week back in November.

A few weeks ago she became the first player in program history to be named to a D2CCA squad and is the first women's basketball player to be named All-American since Sarah Helton in the early 2000s.

She now joins Sarah Helton (NAIA – 2006), Christy Gray-Dalton (NAIA – 1998), Wanda Slone (NAIA – 1992), Mendee Davis (NLCAA – 1988), and Dana Mathes (NLCAA – 1988) in the ranks of UVA Wise women's basketball All-Americans.

Joining Mullins on the honorable mention team from the SAC are Lenoir-Rhyne's Aaliyah El, Lincoln Memorial's Kamil Collier, and Coker's Shawnteanna Tillman. Abbie Smith from Concord, who played UVA Wise early in the season, also made the list. Lenoir-Rhyne Head Coach Emry Tsitouris was a finalist for Coach of the Year.

The WBCA lists an All-America team of nine players on the first team and several honorable mentions. There were 29 honorable mentions this season, so Mullins is one of the top 40 players in the nation, according to the coaches.
