ROCK HILL, S.C. - - UVA Wise sophomore placekicker Kellan Dalton has been named South Atlantic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for his play in the Cavaliers' season-opening 41-9 victory over Ferrum.

The Berryville, Va. product made history in the win as his 50-yard field goal with 7:41 to play in the third quarter set a new program record at UVA Wise. Dalton also booted a 31-yard field goal in the win while averaging 48.8 yards per kickoff.

He is the first UVA Wise placekicker to earn SAC Special Teams Player of the Week since the school joined the conference in 2019.

Dalton and his teammates will be back in action Saturday at North Alabama. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and the game can be heard live on 93.5 (waxm.com)
