WISE -- UVA Wise concluded its season with as Emory & Henry outscored the Cavs 70-13 Saturday afternoon on the Beaty-Richmond Field.

It was Senior Day, which included ceremonies saying farewell to several seniors on the football team, cheer/dance squads, and the marching band.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UVA Wise received the opening kickoff and advanced to their own 39-yard line following a penalty against Emory & Henry. McCalan Beason led the offensive charge with several short passes, notably connecting with DJ Powell and Brady Dalton to move the chains before the drive ended with an interception, After the Wasps capitalized on their possession with a touchdown, the Cavs responded by Beason orchestrating a 75-yard drive that culminated in a 6-yard touchdown pass to Powell. The Wasps countered by adding two quick touchdowns and concluding the quarter with a 28-7 lead over the Cavaliers.
- After a Wasps score early in the second quarter, UVA Wise put together a methodical ten play drive that ended with Evan Kennedy's 3-yard rushing touchdown at 6:06 cut the lead to 35-13.  That score stood at the half.
- In the third quarter, UVA Wise's defense made a significant impact early by halting Emory & Henry's drive at the 11:04 mark, resulting in a turnover on downs. However, despite this defensive stop, the Wasps managed to capitalize on subsequent possessions, scoring twice, including a 41-yard touchdown pass at 00:50 in the quarter.
- The Cavs opened the fourth quarter with a strong run from Beason, who gained 12 yards to secure a first down at their own 43-yard line. Despite their offensive efforts, including a completed pass to Powell for another first down, the drive stalled, leading to a punt. The Wasps capitalized on their possession, scoring a touchdown with a 35-yard rush by Jordan Jackson. UVA Wise's subsequent drive was marked by a roughing the kicker penalty against Emory & Henry, but a fumble was recovered by the visitors, who quickly converted it into another touchdown. The Wasps went on to claim the 70-13 victory.

GETTING WISE
- Beason completed 20 of 46 passes for 224 yards and threw one touchdown, adding 30 rushing yards on 12 carries.
- Powell collected five receptions for 33 yards and scored one touchdown.
- Peyton McClanahan led the receiving corps with six catches, totaling 102 yards.
- Elijah Matthews paced the defense with eight total tackles.
