WISE - - UVA Wise right-hander Garrett Stiltner has been named AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance in a pair of games last week. For the week, the hurler did not allow a run over 11 innings of work, allowing just three hits while striking out nine en route to the first weekly honor of his career.

The Johnson City, Tenn. product began the week with two perfect innings of relief against Bluefield State. The relief effort was a precursor to the best start of Stiltner's collegiate career which came on Friday night against Limestone.

Against the Saints, the junior turned in a masterpiece by firing a complete-game, three-hit, shutout. Limestone had a runner reach second base just once as Stiltner did not allow a runner to reach scoring position after the opening frame. By the time the final out was recorded, Stiltner had scattered three hits, fanned seven and walked just two over 125 pitches to record his third mound victory of 2022.

He joins teammate Tyler Campbell as Cavaliers who have earned SAC Player of the Week awards this season.
