UVA WISE NOTES
UVA Wise is looking for their first conference sweep at home against the Coker Cobras on March 19. Previously, the Cavs have been successful snagging at least one win out of a doubleheader against SAC opponents at Cavalier Field such as nationally-ranked Anderson and Lincoln Memorial squads. With two wins against Coker, the Cavaliers would put their conference record at a solid .500 (5-5)
- As of March 15, the Cavaliers are ranked 4th in the nation in home runs per game at 1.33.Â
- In their most recent series, UVA Wise suffered an 11-0 loss in Game 1 against Newberry but quickly bounced back and recorded a 6-4 extra-innings win in Game 2 with the help of a homer each from Sarah Barrett, Mallory McKnight, and Mady Buchanan
- Jenna McDermott sits in second place in conference ranks in batting average (.446)
- Sarah Barrett currently leads the Cavalier squad in RBIs (21) and total home runs on the year (5)
- In the circle, McKenna Falwell has struck out 53 on the year in 11 appearances
COKER NOTES
- Coker currently sits in the 11th spot on the SAC standings, with only one conference win against Limestone (March 13, 6-2).
- In their most recent series, the Cobras split at Limestone and marked their first conference win — grabbing Game 2 by a score of 6-2
- Coker has only completed four conference games, with their conference opener opponent Lenoir-Rhyne outscoring them 17-1 on the day (March 5, 7-0, 10-1)
- Senior Chloe Pelham of the Cobras leads the team in slugging percentage (.779) batting average (.407), and on-base percentage (.457)
