LEXINGTON, Va. - - The UVA Wise women's golf team finished fifth in the Knights Invitational held at Lexington Golf and Country Club this week. Robin Dotson's squad shot a 697 over the 36 holes to finish 37 strokes off the pace set by team champion Southern Virginia University.

Abby Peterson was the highest-finishing Cavalier as she shot an 85 on day one before following with an 86 to card a 171 for the event. Two other UVA Wise women finished in the top 20 as Sarah Arnold tied for 18th with a score of 173 while Olivia Baker tied for 20th with a score of 175.

Julia Kessler tied for 24th as her 86 on day two was seven strokes better than her day one performance to post a 179. Haley Howard tied for 28th with a two-day score of 181 her 87 on day two was seven strokes better than her day one performance.

Savannah Burdsall shot 92's on each day to tie for 32nd.

UVA Wise wraps up the fall season Oct. 29 at the Buzz Off Invitational at Glenrochie Country Club in Abingdon.
