WISE – Former UVA Wise golfer
Olivia Baker has been named as a new assistant coach for the Highland Cavalier golf programs.
The Jonesville, Virginia, native was a standout player during her prep career at Lee High, where she helped lead the Generals to the state tournament while setting new program records. She was named All-Mountain 7 Conference multiple times and was the Lee County FCA Golfer of the Year in 2019.
She finished her career at UVA Wise as one of the top golfers in school history. She is third in career scoring average with 86.44 and fourth in won-loss percentage with .462. Her 72 rounds played are the most in program history and she had five top five and nine top ten finishes in the 33 tournaments she competed in.
When asked about coming back to the program as a coach, Baker said "I'm excited to take my knowledge from my competitive golf career and as a former college golfer to help our golfers at UVA-Wise to reach their goals and be successful on the course and in the classroom!"
Baker graduated in the Spring of 2025 from UVA Wise with bachelor's degrees in government and psychology.
