Women's Tennis Signs Emily Conn for 2021-22 Season

WISE – Head coach Danny Rowland announced the addition of Emily Conn to the 2021-22 women's tennis roster Wednesday.

A native of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, Conn is a four-year letter winner in tennis at Knott County Central High School. During her freshman season, Conn won the singles and doubles championship in the 14th region and advanced to the state championship tournament in both her freshman and sophomore season.

As a sophomore she earned the Kenny Huffman 18U singles champion title and the Ron Compton Sportsmanship Award. In her junior season, Conn claimed the Coalfield Progress tournament Women's B Singles title before being named a team captain at Knott County Central in her senior campaign.

Off the court, Conn is a four-year member of the National Honor Society and the Patriotivity writer's club. She joined the BETA club her junior year and was also named a Roger's Scholar. As a senior, Conn was selected Class President and was also tabbed Homecoming Queen. Additionally, she is a member of the Ashland Ladies League and a Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) Ambassador.

Conn's hobbies include playing tennis, reading, going to church, and playing the guitar. She chose UVA Wise because it feels like the perfect home. The daughter of Greg and Pam Conn, Emily plans to pursue a degree in psychology when she joins campus in the fall.
