Box Score LYNCHBURG, Va. – Women's tennis earned its second sweep of the campaign Sunday afternoon in a 7-0 victory over Randolph College.
In doubles play, juniors Katya Akimenko and Grace Hall paired up at No. 1 to sweep Zeinab Elkhansa and Heather Whetzel, 8-0. At No. 2, junior Lillian Morris and freshman Sarah Moore posted an 8-3 win over Jenna Fink and Bailey Livingston.
Liza Akimenko earned her second match win of the day at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Katya Akimenko and Hall each posted 6-0, 6-0 sweeps over their opponents at the No. 2 and No. 3 spot, respectively. Morris recorded a 6-0, 6-1 win over Jenna Fink at number four while Moore swept Amanda Jagdeo at number five to give the Cavs the sweep.
Head coach Danny Rowland and his team return to Wise for their home and conference opener against Newberry Saturday afternoon. First serve is slated for 2 p.m. at the Jim and Betty Humphreys Tennis Complex.
