Conference Play Begins

UVA Wise is in its first season as a South Atlantic Conference member and will be playing its first SAC doubleheader today.
The Cavaliers and Pioneers enter the game playing well. UVA Wise is coming off a doubleheader sweep of Bluefield State while Tusculum has won eight of its last nine games.
Tusculum was picked to finish 10th in the Preseason SAC Poll while UVA Wise was tabbed 12th.

Eight SAC schools have winning records. LMU is ranked 13th nationally with a 12-5 record and Lenoir-Rhyne is 17th nationally with a 17-3 record
Tusculum's Chole Freischmidt won NFCA DII Player of the Week honors earlier this season when she hit .545 with two doubles and two grand slams over a four-game stretch.
In 2019, every SAC school won at least 20 games. LMU advanced to the regional final while the Railsplitters and three other conference schools won at least 30 games.
