WISE - - UVa-Wise softball will wrap up their regular season this weekend on the road. The Cavaliers will first visit West Liberty University for a rescheduled doubleheader beginning at 12:30 p.m. Thursday. Co-Head Coaches Karen Bitter and Nick Bitter's team will then face West Virginia Wesleyan and Glenville State College on Friday and Saturday before a potential rescheduled doubleheader against Wheeling Jesuit University on Sunday.

About UVa-Wise
UVa-Wise enters into the final stretch of regular season play with a 20-19 overall mark and a 14-10 Mountain East Conference record, placing the Cavs fourth in the South Division and 10th in the Atlantic Regional rankings.
Mountain East Conference Co-Player of the Week Taylor Creasey aided the Cavs in a 5-3 week. Creasey had three home runs and a .409 batting average with seven runs, four RBI, and a .536 on base percentage across eight games. The junior's .664 slugging percentage is fifth-best in the league.
UVa-Wise claims the sixth-best batting average in the conference, .279, led by senior Shannon Bennett who is batting .339 so far this season with 38 hits and 15 RBI to date.
Creasey and sophomore Alexis Miles lead the Cavs with their .664 and .624 slugging percentages, respectively. Miles is also posting a .308 batting average with a team-high 31 runs (tied for 7th in MEC) while recording 36 hits including ten doubles and nine home runs (5th in the MEC).
Sophomore Kailyn Spencer holds a 3.18 ERA with eight wins in the circle and 10 complete game performances across 90 1/3 innings. Junior Raychel Lapallo follows with a 4.34 ERA and nine wins in 100 innings pitched so far this season.
Notes on West Liberty University
Coming off a 4-2 week, the Hilltoppers welcome UVa-Wise to town while currently claiming a 27-16 overall record, 19-17 in the Mountain East for a second-place standing in the North Division.
West Liberty's split against Fairmont State Monday afternoon gave the Hilltoppers just their second loss at home, 14-2, with their two final home contests of the season against the Cavs Thursday afternoon.
The Mountain East Conference Co-Player of the week sophomore Allie Cook leads her team and is sixth in the conference with a .392 batting average, .493 on base percentage (3rd in the MEC), and 14 doubles so far this season.
Sophomore Kat Donzella is 10-for-11 on the season in stolen bases with a team-high .728 slugging percentage, 35 runs scored, 14 home runs (2nd in the MEC), and 38 runs batted in (2nd in the MEC).
Across 101 1/3 innings pitched, Mackenzie Amend holds a 2.28 earned run average with opponents batting .189 against her. The sophomore has struck out 119 this season with a 12-6 record inside the circle.
Notes on West Virginia Wesleyan College
On a four-game losing streak, the Bobcats are now 16-22 overall, 9-15 in the Mountain East, as they will host the Cavs Friday afternoon with the team closing out their regular season with a pair of doubleheaders Friday and Saturday. West Virginia Wesleyan currently sits one place behind the Cavs for a fifth-place spot in the South Division.
Sophomore Kennedy Cowart holds a conference-best .417 batting average with 48 hits including nine doubles this season. Her .481 on base percentage is fifth-best in the league.
In the circle for the Bobcats, freshman Hannah Hudson claims a 2.68 ERA with nine wins and 18 complete game performances. The freshman has had two shutouts and struck out 106 across 133 innings twirled.
Notes on Glenville State College
The Pioneers will conclude their regular season at home against the Cavs Saturday afternoon. The team currently sits last in South Division league standings with a 12-32 overall mark and a 5-21 league record as Glenville State hosts Concord University for two games prior to facing off with UVa-Wise.
Freshman Karra Smith's .382 batting average leads her team and places her 10th in individual league standings while her .685 slugging percentage is fourth-best in the conference and her 11 home runs to date rank her third in league standings. The infielder's 117 assists place her atop the league alongside a .962 fielding percentage.
Celina Maberto's 4.85 ERA leads the Pioneers' pitching staff as she's picked up four wins in the circle this campaign with one shutout. The sophomore has struck out 37 across 104 innings with five complete games so far this season.
Notes on Wheeling Jesuit University
With the possibility to play two games against the Cavs to end their season, the Cardinals will be on the road for a pair of doubleheaders Friday and Saturday before a potential doubleheader against the Cavs Sunday.
The Cardinals snapped a five-game losing streak Monday afternoon against the No. 25 Shepherd Rams at home with a 5-2 game two win. Wheeling currently sits in the fifth spot in the North Division with an 8-36 overall record, 5-21 in league play.
Senior Molly Welsh holds a team-leading .348 batting average with 47 hits and 22 runs this season. The outfielder has recorded nine doubles with a .408 on base percentage.
Senior Erin Unberbrink's 6.10 earned run average leads the Cardinals pitching staff as she's earned a pair of wins with two shutouts in 86 innings. Freshman Kelsey Barron follows with a 6.53 ERA as she's gained five wins across 103 1/3 innings in the circle.
Series History
UVa-Wise leads the all-time series against West Liberty 9-1 and are currently on a six-game win streak from 2016 with the Cavs earning a doubleheader sweep in the teams' final meeting last season.
West Virginia Wesleyan leads the all-time series against the Cavs 12-4 following UVa-Wise capturing a pair of wins against the Bobcats at home earlier this season.
The Cavs lead the all-time series against the Pioneers 16-2 and are currently on a 10-game win streak since the 2017 campaign. UVa-Wise defeated Glenville State in a doubleheader sweep at Cavalier Field back in March.
Wheeling Jesuit and UVa-Wise are tied 5-5 in the all-time series. The teams last met in May when the Cardinals defeated the Cavs in the Mountain East Conference tournament after going 1-1 on the road with UVa-Wise last April.
