- In addition to setting the all-time consecutive MEC wins record, UVa-Wise can clinch at least a share its second consecutive regular season conference championship. To do so, Meghan Dennehy's team will need to win and have Wheeling Jesuit University lose at Notre Dame College and Shepherd University fall at home to the University of Charleston.
- Senior Jessica Apgar is the reigning MEC Defensive Player of the Week. Apgar became the first player in school history to reach 200 career groundballs in last Saturday's win over Charleston.
- Junior Jesse French has tallied four or more points in four consecutive games. The attacker's 45 points are tied for the team lead while her 29 points against league competition is a team-high.
- Senior McKayla Grasham has registered a hat trick in five straight MEC games. The Baltimore native is coming off a four goal game in Saturday's win against Charleston and registered three goals in UVa-Wise's 18-1 win over West Virginia Wesleyan earlier this season.
- Junior Elsa Girardo has turned up her play against MEC foes. The goalie is posting a .542 save percentage in six conference games. Overall, UVa-Wise has held opponents to eight or fewer goals in four of its first six conference games.
Notes on West Virginia Wesleyan
- The Bobcats are winless (0-7) in league play and enter the contest on a seven-game losing streak. In its first meeting against UVa-Wise, WVWC fell behind 12-0 before scoring, converted just 10-of-20 clear chances and won only 6-of-21 draw controls in the game.
- Senior attacker Madison Duvall's 44 points leads the Bobcats' offense. She was the only WVWC player to score in her team's first meeting against UVa-Wise this spring.
- The Bobcats have used three goalies this season. Gabrielle Cleaveland has played the bulk of the minutes and has registered 92 saves with .469 save percentage.
