WISE, Va. – The UVa-Wise softball team's Mountain East Conference home doubleheaders with Urbana University and Notre Dame College have been moved up to Thursday and Friday due to forecasted heavy rain and thunderstorms this weekend. The Cavaliers were originally scheduled to host the Blue Knights Saturday at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. but will now take on Urbana Thursday at 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Likewise, UVa-Wise was slated to take on the Falcons Sunday in a 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. doubleheader but will now face Notre Dame College Friday with 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. games.
With a forecasted 80% chance of thunderstorms Saturday and 100% chance of rain Sunday in the Wise area, all coaches involved agreed to move up the games two days earlier. Senior day will be held next week on Wednesday when the Cavs host Concord University for a 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. home finale doubleheader. Seniors

Emily Kale will be honored in between the two games.
UVa-Wise went 3-1 last weekend at Cavalier Field and is in the midst of a 10-game homestand. The Cavs own a 23-15 overall record, a 14-8 mark in MEC play and are 12-4 in Wise this season. Currently, UVa-Wise sits in third place in the MEC South Division standings.
