WISE, Va. – Forecasted steady rain Sunday afternoon has slightly altered the UVa-Wise softball team's weekend schedule. The Cavaliers, who were originally scheduled to take on 13th-ranked West Virginia Wesleyan Sunday in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m., will now face the No. 13 Lady Bobcats Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

It is the only change to UVa-Wise's schedule this week as the Cavs continue their 10-game homestand Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. with a non-conference doubleheader against Bluefield State. UVa-Wise also hosts Glenville State College Saturday for their second Mountain East Conference doubleheader of the weekend. First pitch of Saturday's doubleheader is at 1 p.m. All three of the Cavs' doubleheaders this week will take place at Cavalier Field.

UVa-Wise owns a 10-8 overall record and is 3-1 in MEC play. The Cavs have won seven of their last nine games and are coming off of a doubleheader split against the University of Charleston this past Monday. West Virginia Wesleyan was ranked 15th nationally in the preseason poll and is currently No. 13 according to the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II poll.
