WISE, Va. – Once again weather has altered UVa-Wise softball's schedule affecting this weekend's Mountain East Conference opening doubleheaders. Due to melting snow from this past week and forecasted heavy rainfall in the Wise area Friday into Friday night, the Cavaliers (7-7) have moved Saturday's doubleheader against the University of Charleston to Monday.
UVa-Wise will still take on West Virginia State Sunday for its MEC opener, first pitch of game one is slated for 1 p.m. from Cavalier Field. The Cavs face the Golden Eagles of Charleston Monday with a 1 p.m. start to the doubleheader.
Sunday's contests will begin a 10-game homestand for UVa-Wise as the Cavs have played 12 of their first 14 games away from Wise. UVa-Wise is currently on a three-game win streak after a doubleheader sweep at Newberry College last Saturday.
